Police investigating the attempted murder of a 5yr old boy, said to have been hanged in woods by youngsters, expect to arrest 2 or 3 young people.. the horrific crime took place in Dewsubry in Yorkshire..Police believe the boy was taken from his garden by a group of children, to the woods, where they tried to kill him with a rope tied around his neck. The children then attempted to hang him from a tree!...The crime is reminiscant of the murder of Merseyside toddler James Bulger, by 2 10 yrold boys, in 1993 in Liverpool..he was lead away by the two boys while waiting for his mother outside a shop..
Omg, that is sick!
actually what happened is that the boy was discovered near his home with ligature marks on his neck which would imply that something had been placed around it. no one has actually yet released a statement as to what happened to him. 5 children have to date been arrested, two were released without charge and another two were iliminated from enquiries. a 5th child, a 12 year old girl, was re-arrested yesterday. Now while one firstly would wonder what the hell drives a group of 11 and 12 year olds to do something like this, I would also ask what a 5 year old was doing unsupervised away from home.
Actually no one is really sure what happened, I just posted what I'd heard from a respected Scottish newspaper....
And to clarify a mistake the boy was in his MOTHER's front garden, as I stated in the post..what drives anyone to kill or attempt to kill..peer pressure, being intoxicated by having that degree of power over another human being, and becoming addicted to the thrill..
there is a theory that they children were copying a scene from a film, depicting an attempted hanging..but they have to find a scapegoat eh
hmmm well on the bbc site it states that the child was found "near his home", no mention of the fact he was found in the front garden, I guess that could have been where he was playing, but if that was the case he shouldn't have been left to play unsupervised in a place where he could potentially get out and disappear.
There is a lot of confusion over the facts of this case and even the police are finding it hard to ascertain what really went on..whatever its still frightening that children of 11 & 12 are capable of such a thing..
I am from dewsbury which is the English town in which this incident took place. Elsheaton park is somewhere I went when I was younger. As someone said on the 6:00 news on Wednesday, the park has been taken over by youths at night. This is typical of a lot of streets in that area including the one I live on, which has police helecopters flying over it nightly. I know none of the people involved in this. The Chickenly representitive on Kirkless Council has blamed this crime on there being not enough for kids to do at night. Anthony's father visited the hospital but he said that when he arrived Anthony had been discharged. I don't think it was an attempted murder, the boy had been released within a day of arriving at the hospital in which I was born. Something which I don't understand is why are police still looking for 3 teenagers? It shouldn't take them so long to find them. The boy was found with ligature marks, it's not clear whether he was hanged or whether he was abducted. He was playing with one of the arrested people in his back garden. He was taken from there to the woods while his mum washed dishes. This is the first time though that my town has been in the news that I can recall. It's tradgic what's happened to the boy but it's great that one of the main stories in the news, the top story for a while was from my town, because it doesn't happen often.
that's so tipicle of so many estates these days, kids hanging round parks etc at night, and I'd imagine that the police helicopters are most likely out at nights after joyriders. I used to live in Cardiff, and not far from where I lived was a less desireable neighbourhood, and it was very common to hear cars screeching from there at night, closely followed by the helicopter, and on more than one occasion we discovered the burnt out wreck of a car in the park when walking the dog. It's just so tragic though that it's come to this. When I was younger, I wouldn't have dared hang around in parks at night, my parents always demanded to know where I was, and when I would be home, and when I was that age, I had to be home by a certain time of night. But it seems that the kids these days are just left to roam the streets undeterred, and the police are powerless to do anything about it because kids have rights these days, and god do they know it.
The girl who was re-arrested has been charged with GBH and attempting to pervert the course of justice, apparently she is a known trouble maker hmm.. 1 wonders what she will be capable of in 3or 4 years time.

The problem where I live is that those people were congrigating on nearby treets but as soon as the residents who are pissed off with them do anythng about it, they move on and at the moment it's our street. I notice the girl isn't been charged for attempted murder. I don't think she'll be capable of much if she's found guilty.
Yes but what will she learn in her incarceration and if she can attempt to hang a 5yr old boy now, what's next, a stabbing an abduction or murder...and the neds gather on the streets here and if you ask them to move on, you risk being beaten to a pulp! The police are so busy dealing with these bampots, that its now impossible, for them to attend every call.
